Guinevere F. Eden, Ph.D.

Eden PhotoDr. Eden is the President of The International Dyslexia Association and the Director of the Center for the Study of Learning at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Guinevere Eden’s work is in the field of neuroscience, particularly developmental dyslexia, and focuses on characterizing visual processing in individuals with and without dyslexia using fMRI.

She is the Director of the Center for the Study of Learning (CSL). In addition, she is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Neuroscience, as well as a member of the Center for Neural Injury and Recovery (CNIR) and the Center for the Brain Basis of Cognition (CBBC).

Maryanne Wolf, Ph.D.

Director, Center for Reading and Language Research
Professor of Child Development, Tufts University

Wolf PhotoDr. Maryann Wolf created The Center for Reading and Language Research at the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development, a multi-disciplinary group of researchers dedicated to conducting high quality research on all aspects of reading development.

Maryanne Wolf received her doctorate from Harvard University in the Department of Human Development and Psychology in the Graduate School of Education, where she began her work on the neurological underpinnings of reading, language, and dyslexia. Professor Wolf was awarded the Distinguished Professor of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Psychological Association, and also the Teaching Excellence Award from the American Psychological Association.

She is the author of the RAVE-O Intervention Program, an evidence-based fluency comprehension program for struggling readers that has proven successful in two major federal studies. Wolf received the Norman Geschwind Lecture Award from the International Dyslexia Association for neuroscience research in dyslexia.

She has edited the book, Dyslexia, Fluency, and the Brain and is the author of Proust and the Squid: The Story and Science of The Reading Brain
