ALAN AND SUSAN RAYMOND are proud to announce that three men who appeared in their 2015 film TOE TAG PAROLE - TO LIVE AND DIE ON YARD A have been released from prison. Parole Board officials as well as the California Governor screened this documentary when reviewing their cases.

Ken HartmanKen Hartman was sentenced to Life Without The Possibility of Parole for a Murder Conviction and served 38 years in prison. Ken is a dedicated advocate for prison reform and a prolific author including his memoir Mother California: A Story of Redemption Behind Bars.

Gov. Brown commuted his sentence.

John GrobmanJohn Grobman (right) was sentenced to 109 Years and Three Life Sentences for Forgery, Fraud and Embezzlement. When the California Three Strikes Law was revised for nonviolent crimes, John was eligible for parole. While in prison John supervised the Paws for Life Program that trains shelter dogs to be service animals for veterans suffering from PTSD. Today John is Director of Programs for Paws for Life throughout California prisons.

Daniel WhitlowDaniel Whitlow was sentenced at age 17 to Juvenile Life Without The Possibility of Parole for a Murder Conviction. The Juvenile Life Without Parole Law was deemed unconstitutional in 2017 and Daniel was eligible for parole after serving 25 years in prison. Daniel met Mia Maria through her viewing of Toe Tag Parole on HBO. They are married and starting a new life together.
